INTERTWININGS
Threads that meet and intertwine — sometimes symmetrically, sometimes at random — to form a fabric of stories and experiences, until friction, use, and wear cause them to come undone. Fragments laden with memories, lost in irreparable ways.
Such is life, some might say.
But what kind of life are we talking about?
The life of marine creatures ensnared in the nets cast into the sea each day — the result of collective, demanding labor that goes far beyond the aesthetic romanticism of social media, requiring unity, tightened bonds, and a deep connection with the environment?
Or the lives of people watching their relationships fade through a screen?
Interlacings continues my work related to the Sea, in which I focused on observing the meeting point of sky and water.
Here, I dive into the depths of a sea that welcomes me — a sea I know is full of life, yet I choose to admire it only for the beauty of its movement, its color, and a single human intervention: nets. Shown whole or in fragments, they move like the sea itself — shifting, taking shape, dancing in the silent blue.
As I worked, reflections on environmental issues and social networks became my constant companions.
So I leave space for each viewer, as they follow the course of these works, to also reflect on their own intertwinings.
